About the Writer/Director

Laurence Vannicelli is a writer-director currently enrolled in the Columbia University MFA Film program. A graduate of Brown University, he has worked for various prestigious Distribution Companies, Advertising firms and production houses such as Take-Part / Participant Film, Saatchi and Saatchi, MIT, Microsoft and Scholastic. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.

About the Producer

Jesse enlisted in the US Army where he was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of Operation Joint Endeavor. After the military he attended the University of California Santa Barbara where he graduated with a BFA in Theater Performance and a BA equivalent in Stage Directing. He then moved to San Francisco to work in house at The Magic Theatre, where he was the production manager on the world premier of Dr Faustus, written and directed by David Mamet.

Jesse moved to New York City where he was selected to be one of two directing residents at the Off Broadway theater company, Playwrights Horizons. He has directed and performed in over 40 theatrical productions across the US and internationally.

Jesse began working on feature films in the visual effects department on such films as COLD SOULS and ASYLUM SEEKERS. He became a producer at the advertising agency, Digitas, and worked on national commercials for multiple brands. In 2010 he decided to pursue his love of film and storytelling by enrolling in the Masters of Fine Arts Film Program at Columbia University where he has been a Teacher’s Assistant for the Television Writing, Script Analysis and Elements of Dramatic Narrative courses. His first-year Columbia film project, STARLIGHT, was featured at the San Antonio Film Festival.

At the 2013 Columbia Film Festival at NYC’s Lincoln Center his short film, DOUBLE HEADER won the IFP Audience Choice Award and his television pilot THE HALL won Best TV Pilot. In the Spring of 2014 Jesse will be teaching a Screenwriting course at Columbia.
