About the Writer/Director
KEOLA RACELA is an American filmmaker born in Southern California. Before entering the M.F.A. film program at Columbia University, he worked as Media Director at Youth Rights Media; a nonprofit organization in New Haven, CT dedicated to creating social change through youth-led documentary filmmaking. His short films have played at festivals worldwide and received numerous awards, including Best Student Short (Woodstock Film Festival 2013), Best Short Film (Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival), and First Place Gold Circle Award for Outstanding Student Film (The Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors Foundation). His short film, Above the Sea, was the gold medal winner of the 2014 Student Academy Award for narrative film. Keola was selected from over 1,000 applicants for the inaugural year of the HBO ACCESS program where he wrote and directed a short film.
About the Producer
SARAH SEULKI OH is a New-York based independent producer who is currently pursing an M.F.A. in Creative Producing at Columbia University’s graduate film program. She has been awarded the 2014 HBO Films Young Producers Production Award, Arthur Krim Memorial Award and the Academy Foundation Internship Award. She has produced numerous short films internationally, in Italy, Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom, and United States that have played at festivals worldwide.
