About the Writer/Director

George Sikharulidze was born in 1988 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a BA in Media Studies from NYU and a MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University. His first film, The Fish that Drowned, was selected at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. Red Apples, his second short won the best film award at CUFF and premiered at TIFF. Fatherland is his graduation film, which he wrote, directed and produced in Georgia.
