An unnerving encounter with her estranged father at a nightclub while on a weekend back home in Lima is enough to remind Lia (19) that there are unhealed wounds. But she will be forced to understand that the only person who can take care of her now is herself.

About the Writer/Director

Thais Drassinower

Thais Drassinower is a Peruvian filmmaker who recently graduated with an MFA from Columbia University. Her first short film Memories of the Sea was shot in Brazil and was selected as Best of Fest at the New York International Children's Film Festival after screening at several international festivals including Aspen Shortsfest and Palm Springs Shortfest. Her thesis film Baby was shot in Lima, Peru and was awarded the James Production Award Grant.



About the Producer

Sasha John

Sasha John is a Creative Producing MFA student from Columbia University. She has previously worked in India at DAR Motion Pictures with films such as Ritesh Batra’s The Lunchbox (2014), D-Day (2013), and Anurag Kashyap’s Ugly (2014). Her thesis film Everything is Fine, which she produced and shot in New Delhi, India, received an award from the Katharina Otto-Bernstein Thesis Film Fund for production and has screened at the 2017 Filmfare Awards in India.
