About the Co-Writer/Director

Justin Liberman graduated with his MFA in directing from Columbia University Film School, where he was a directing fellow. He spent three years working under Michael Mann and David Mamet and was a shadow director for Allen Coulter on “Boardwalk Empire.” His narrative films have screened in many international film festivals, museums, and galleries. Liberman, along with Judah-Lev Dickstein, is part of the directing team Tank +Bunker, which is represented by Greenpoint Pictures. His commercials have brought him around the world, for clients such as ESPN, Procter & Gamble, American Express, and Macy’s. As an educator, Liberman is a Visiting Professor at Sacred Heart University’s graduate film school, FTMA.

About the Producer

Alvaro R. Valente is an Italian/Belgian producer based in New York City. His producing credits include the feature films The Fortune Theory (2013) and Deniz Seviyesi (2014), as well as dozens of short films produced between the United States, Europe, and South America. After graduating from Universita’ Cattolica of Milan with a degree in Economics and Management of Entertainment and several training programs in producing for animation, film and theater, Alvaro earned his MFA in Film Producing at Columbia University in 2014. Alvaro’s award-winning producing work has been showcased in various festivals worldwide, including twice at Sundance. He was a participant of the 2013 Berlinale Talent Campus and was awarded the Everest Entertainment Development Award. Alvaro currently has three features in development.

About the Writer

Ajani Jackson is a New York-based writer and filmmaker. A Michigan native, Ajani is the son of two microbiologists and spent much of his childhood on the campus of Michigan State University where he discovered his love for storytelling. He attended the University of Kansas as an undergraduate and is currently an MFA Screenwriting candidate in Columbia University’s Film Program. He was awarded the 2012 Jesse B. Thompkins Award for excellence in screenwriting.
