About the Writer/Director

EMILY SHESH is a New York-based writer and director, currently pursuing an M.F.A. at Columbia University. After studying Film and Media Arts at Temple University, she worked in video production with companies such as MTV, True Entertainment and HBO. Her work is heavily focused on female protagonists and ranges from emotionally-grounded reality to heightened comedy. Her most recent short, Parents of the Groom, was the recipient of the 2014 Katharina Otto-Bernstein Film Fund and the Columbia University Breaking Barriers Production Grant.

About the Producers

PETER TODD is a film producer based in NYC, pursuing his M.F.A. in Creative Producing at Columbia University. While working on his thesis project, Parents of the Groom, Peter founded Shady Deals Productions. Prior to that, Peter produced six short films and co-produced five other short films at Columbia. Peter began his entertainment career working for Henderson Hogan Agency, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and independent producers, Pete Lengyel (Super Troopers) and Rich Perello (Super Troopers).

MARION CECINAS is a French producer who began her film career in Paris working on Academy-Award finalist Dripped, directed by Leo Verrier in 2013. She has produced and co-produced many short films directed by upcoming filmmakers, including Parents of the Groom (dir. Emily Shesh), The Year I Grew An Inch (dir. Jonathan Dee) and Miracle Polish (dir. Eduardo Cohn). In addition, Marion is developing French director Etienne Faure’s next feature film Riverbank, slated to shoot in 2015. She is currently an M.F.A. candidate in Creative Producing at Columbia University.
