About the Writer/Director
George Sikharulidze was born in 1988 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a BA in Media Studies from NYU and is currently enrolled in a MFA program in Film Directing at Columbia University. His first film, The Fish that Drowned, was selected at the Palm Springs and Clermont-Ferrand Film Festivals. Red Apples, which he directed in Armenia, is his latest film. George has also taught filmmaking at Columbia and Northwestern Universities.
About the Producer
Ophelia Harutyunyan was born and raised in Armenia. She graduated from Yerevan State University and Stockholm University with an LL.M. degree, before coming to Columbia University to pursue her MFA in Creative Producing. In 2014 she received the Arthur Krim Memorial Award for Excellence in producing. Her thesis film, Red Apples, which she wrote and produced, received the Katharina Otto-Bernstein Film Fund Award and was shot in Armenia.
