About the Writer/Director

Minka Bleakley is an Australian-American filmmaker and screenwriter. She received an MFA with Honors in Screenwriting at Columbia University. She was the recipient of the 2019 Teaching Fellowship, the 2020 Indian Paintbrush Grant, and the CUFF 2021 Best Teleplay (Drama) Award. She was a semifinalist for the 2021 Humanitas Prize. Her work has been screened at the Academy-qualifying festivals, including Palm Springs ShortFest and Seattle International Film Festival.
