About the Producer

Laura Ganotis is a Greek-Italian film producer based between Brooklyn, New York and Athens, Greece. She graduated in 2023 with an MFA in Creative Producing at Columbia University, with Honors. Raised between cultures and countries, Laura has focused on producing work that has a nomadic and fluid identity. She received the 2024 Katharina Otto-Bernstein Mentorship and Development Prize for a short film. She is in development for her debut feature film “When the Goats Came” which is a Sundance Screenwriters Intensive project.  Some themes that she naturally gravitates towards include belonging, displacement and ecosystems of various shapes. She is particularly passionate about international filmmaking. As the child of diaspora herself, she recognizes displacement has a powerful message that can encourage tolerance. She believes film is to us what theater was to Ancient Greece – a way of investigating the world and what it means to be human.
