In the idyllic confines of a gated community in China, young Nita gets her finger bitten by a creature in the neighborhood's lake. Her French mother, Marie, is determined to find out what's lurking in the waters — igniting a series of cultural clashes throughout the community.

About the Writer/Director
Growing up between Suzhou, China and the US, Annie is interested in places of cultural convergence in her filmmaking. Her work has premiered at Raindance, Slamdance, Palm Springs - and on Vimeo Staff Picks, Short of the Week and Nowness Asia. She is one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film, and a Vimeo Breakout Creator of the Year.
About the Producer
Belgian-Portuguese-Chinese producer based in NYC. After graduating from French law and Business degrees at the Sorbonne and Assas Universities in Paris, Pierre is interested in producing multicultural stories that tell ‘outsider’ narratives. His recent short as a producer “Strawberry Shortcake” is a selection at Sitges Film Festival, Taipei Film Festival and Vancouver Film Festival.
