About the Co-Writer/Director

Min Ding was born and raised in China. She studied Visual Arts at SUNY Purchase College, where she received her B.F.A. in Graphic Design and later worked for the award-winning new media company Funny Garbage in New York City.

She received her M.F.A. in Film Directing from Columbia University School of the Arts in 2013. During her studies, Min was the recipient of the Columbia Women-in-Film Fellowship and the Student Production Grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. She is the director of the award-winning short film Three Light Bulbs. This film is in the permanent collection of the Museum of the Moving Image and has shown at many international film festivals.

About the Producer

Layla was born and raised in Shenyang, China. She came to the United States in 2007 to pursue her passion in storytelling and filmmaking. As a trilingual international filmmaker, Layla’s films have been awarded and officially selected in numerous film festivals around the world. She shares her voice with the world through filmmaking and delivers positive messages to society. Layla is also the founder of ZQ Pictures, a U.S. and China based Production Company.
