About the Writer/Director
Ken Murphy combines extensive experience as a senior executive incorporate America with a growing creative resume that encompasses screenwriting, directing and producing. As a Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Fortune Twenty firms, Ken successfully integrated the use of the arts into corporate leadership and organization development initiatives.
At Columbia, Ken’s feature-length screenplay, Fire on the Beach, based on the book by David Wright & David Zoby, was awarded Faculty Honors at the 2012 Columbia University Film Festival. Ken also produced the award-winning short film First Match, for which he received the 2010 HBO Young Producer’s Development Award. Ken has a BS degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and an MFA from Columbia University’s School of the Arts.
About the Producer
Rachel Brenna is a producer and writer who began her career in radio, writing commercials and performing voice-overs. She holds a BFA in Acting from USC in Los Angeles, where she spent ten years as an actor, writer, director, and producer. She was the youngest member on the Board of Directors for Copperview Theater Company and a member of the award-winning Theatre Tribe for almost 8 years. Her full-length play, Catch & Release, opened in 2005 at the Elephant Theaters in Hollywood.
Since returning to New York City in 2009, Rachel has been a producer on a dozen short films, several commercials, a television pilot and a documentary. These include: Vivienne Again (Holly Shorts, Big Apple), Ladybug, The Starlight (Official Selection, San Antonio), Irene & Marie with Olympia Dukakis, 110 Llandaff Road with David Koechner (Anchorman, The Office), and Equal Means Equal directed by Kamala Lopez. Rachel recently graduated with an MFA in Film from Columbia University.
