About the Writer/Director
AVRAM DODSON is currently producing his thesis film for Columbia University’s M.F.A. Film program. His previous film, Pistachio Milk, received the Golden Starfish for Student Films at the Hampton International Film Festival and Best Student Short at Austin Film Festival. His work has also screened at South by Southwest. Prior to film, he received his bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and computer science from the University of Texas in Austin.
About the Producer
MIGUEL SILVEIRA’s films have consistently been recognized at national and international film festivals. His short film, Namibia, Brasil was picked up for broadcast by the notable Franco/German television channel ARTE/ZDF. Miguel has taught Film Production at Columbia College in Chicago, EICTV in San Antonio de Los Banos, Cuba and in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has traveled the globe to countries such as Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, Spain, France, India, Bangladesh and countless others. Throughout his life, Silveira has sought to expose himself both to the reality of his country, as well as that of the countries visited; experiences and exposure that has come to influence much of his work today. Silveira is currently filming the feature length documentary, Voices and Faces of the Adhan: Cairo, about the Islamic call to Prayer in Egypt’s capital city.
