Glazed
Set in 1999, Glazed follows a hapless pair of hip-hop lovin’ teenagers from Detroit, as they travel all over town trying to score a bag of weed so they can get into the biggest concert of the year. The film begins with Hasan, a wannabe rapper and amateur pastry chef, and Nick, an aspiring D.J. and producer, discovering that D.J. No Request, their belligerent mentor, is hosting a concert featuring all of the city’s premiere rap artists. Desperate to see the show, the underage teens strike a deal, and promise to pick up the D.J.'s marijuana and return to the venue before the doors open. Hasan and Nick travel to the far reaches of the city, encounter a handful of oddball characters, and come dreadfully close to seeing their dream of rubbing elbows with the city's hottest rappers go up in smoke. Their success depends on whether they can remain true to themselves in a world that's trying to tell them who and how to be.
