About the Writer/Director/Producer
Born and raised in China, Kanne is an independent filmmaker based in NYC and a recent graduate from MFA Screenwriting/Directing at Columbia University. She is an award recipient of the Indian Paintbrush Production Grant. Her late short, D Ocean(US/CN, 2022) just premiered in Riga International Film Festival. Her new short, Shade and Honey (US/CN, 2023) is in post-production. Currently, she is developing her first feature Songs All Unsung(near future, soft sci-fi).
About the Producer
Kathy Mitrani is a Colombian filmmaker based in New York. Kathy and Kanne have collaborated on numerous projects for three years. Her first narrative short film ROZADA, which she wrote/directed and produced had its festival premier at Palm Springs International Film Festival 2020. It then screened at AFI Fest, La Femme International Film Festival and Festival Internacional de Cine de Villa de Leyva in Colombia. ROZADA is featured on Nobudge, Directors Notes, Ladies with Lenses and was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick. Her latest short film, BUZZKILL, which she also wrote, directed and produced premiered at Chicago International Film Festival in 2020 then screened at Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival, Miami Film Festival, Palm Springs International Shortfest and Hamptons International Film Festival.
