Scorpion Hour

by Abigail Schwarz
Feature Screenplay

A woman takes her two children out west to stalk a rockstar.

Originally from suburban Boston, Abigail was arrested when she was 18 and her first thought was: "Fuck, I have to write this into something." She did, directed the feature, and then about 300 hours of community service later, attended Columbia University for both her BA and MFA—in Creative Writing ('17) and Screenwriting ('22) respectively. While in college, she also attended summer classes at the Iowa Writer's Workshop and served on the leadership board of Delta Kappa Alpha. She has received multiple grants for her film work, including a Sloan Research Grant for her Puerto-Rico-set environmental comedy Fire Under Water. Her graduation portfolio film, You Don't Know Anything, won a MUBI audience award at last year's University Film Festival, where it screened a rough cut. The short is currently in post-production. Professionally, Abigail has written over 12 original podcasts for rom-com audio network Meet Cute, and was hired post-grad as an Associate Development Producer for Watt Pictures, where she currently serves as the Manager of Development, producing and directing unscripted television. She will always, always, be happiest unsupervised in a book store with someone else's credit card.*

*(in a romantic way, to be clear, not in an identity theft way)
