About the Writer/Director
Kunao Yan is a writer-director born in Baoding, China. He received his MFA in Directing from Columbia University School of the Arts. His short film, Summer Swing, was shortlisted for the 59th Semaine de la Critique Cannes Film Festival, and premiered at the 23rd Shanghai international Film Festival. His latest short film, Before Leaving, was selected to the Molodist 52nd Kyiv International Film Festival. He was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Columbia University from 2023 Fall. His first feature, Eight to Nine O’clock, is in post-production.
About the Writer
Shuli Tan is a bilingual screenwriter in Mandarin and English. She received her undergraduate degree from Fudan University and is currently pursuing her MFA in Screenwriting at Columbia University. As an independent screenwriter and director, her feature script 'The Necklace' won the Best Feature Screenplay at the 2023 New York Screenwriting Awards.
About the Producer
Qianfan Chen is the Founder of Mili Media, she is a bilingual producer based between the US and China. She holds a MFA in Creative Producing at Columbia University. As a producer with over 3 years of experience in the New York film and television industry, Qianfan worked on more than 25 American productions, including feature films, short films, commercials, micro short films and music videos. Her accolades include Cannes, NY shorts, LA Shorts, among others.
