About the Writer/Director

From Iran with a background in poetry, and interested in surrealism and realism, Faranak moved to the United States  where she made films with female protagonists and social themes inspired by her experiences as an immigrant. At Columbia MFA Film Program she wrote and directed Sufi, Black Red White, and The Big Red Balloon, and directed Auto Plus, and InkShop.
